The Chickahominy Tribe’s “Wamattuwh (it is well): Weaving Together Cultural Practices to Promote Health and Well-Being for the Chickahominy Community” Project will focus on strengthening social and cultural connections and reducing the risk factors for chronic diseases through the use of traditional and contemporary forms of movement and nutrition. Implementing these programs will increase cultural practices to reduce diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and cancer, while reducing morbidity/mortality to improve mental and emotional well-being among the Chickahominy Community.
