By the end of the 5-year period, we will: (1) Increase partners' awareness and understanding of evidence-based tobacco control policy interventions, attendance at presentations on sound tobacco control policy interventions, use and dissemination of training resources and support materials on key public health law issues related to tobacco control policy, use and dissemination of our policy resources to educate decision-makers, and use of legal TA on commercial tobacco control policy issues; (2) Center equity in national discourse on commercial tobacco control policy change through increased engagement with, and TA support for, CDC National Networks; (3) Increase federal, state, and local capacity to reduce tobacco-related death and disability through effective policy development, implementation, and enforcement; (4) Increase use of effective, evidence-based, equity-focused approaches for tobacco prevention and control policies, including increased application of CDC's Best Practices for Comprehensive Tobacco Control Programs at the state and local levels; and (5) Increase the percentage of the U.S. population covered by smoke-free policies, flavored tobacco sales restrictions, and effective tax and pricing policies for all tobacco products.
