The Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (CDPHP) Section and partners are proposing a bold new approach to implement Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia (ADRDs) interventions guided by the Healthy Brain Initiative (HBI) State and Local Public Health Partnerships to Address Dementia: the 2018-2023 Road Map. In this proposal, CDPHP will outline plans to increase stakeholder engagement and coordination in order to implement a public health approach to dementia risk reduction (primary prevention), early detection (secondary prevention), and prevention and management of comorbidities and avoidable hospitalizations (tertiary prevention) and the role of caregivers. All proposed strategies and activities are guided by the HBI Road Map and include coordination of current efforts, the integration of ADRD initiatives into existing programs, and the development of infrastructure and capacity for DPBH to strategically coordinate partners and resources across multiple sectors to limit any duplication of effort, ensure sustainability, and address health equity.
