Nebraska's Tuberculosis and Elimination and Laboratory Cooperative Agreement - The Nebraska Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NETBEP) provides oversight of the program. Program activities include case management, contact investigations, training and education, and expert medical clinical consultations throughout Nebraska. Nebraska is divided into 20 local health departments who oversee individual TB cases and contact investigations. The CDC TB federal grant uses federal funding to support NETBEP through staffing, laboratory services through Nebraska Public Health Lab, medical consultation, and local health department support for TB programmatic activities. The program supports identifying and treating patients with TB disease, identifying, and treating contacts to active TB disease, and testing targeted individuals at increased risk of TB including immigrants and refugees. The NETBEP is working towards the National TB Indicators Project (NTIP) to meet national TB goals across the Nebraska. TB education and training is provided to increase knowledge to improve TB services and knowledge throughout Nebraska. The program evaluation goal is set yearly to improve TB services. Programmatic efforts focus on testing, treating, and testing individuals with increased risk of progression from TB infection to TB disease. The NETBEP is applying for funding with the Tuberculosis Elimination and Laboratory Cooperative Agreement CDC-RFA-PS-25-0003 to perform activities to support TB elimination activities in this grant application. Prevention and control (P & C) and laboratory strengthening activities will continue to allow ongoing and new activities towards TB Elimination in Nebraska. Meeting the short- and long-term outcomes will allow progress towards TB elimination and support higher risk populations and other populations that are disproportionately impacted by TB.
