Tuberculosis (TB) prevention and control activities and laboratory services to reduce TB morbidity and mortality. - The Pennsylvania Department of Health TB Program has the overall responsibility for statewide TB control efforts which include ensuring the provision of effective and efficient surveillance, diagnostic, treatment, and prevention services. The CDC TB Cooperative Agreement funds are utilized to support central office positions, field-based outreach workers, program supplies, medical consultation, laboratory support, and travel for program related meetings and CDC sponsored events. The funds allow the TB Program to meet the responsibility of conducting TB control activities throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
