This application builds on progress made during prior TB CoAgs (~35 years). Our program is mature and stable, with staff experience levels from three to over 18 years. We have excellent ongoing relationships with LHDs statewide and will provide a variety of programmatic and patient support options. We have strong relations with the MDHHS BOL, which performs full-extent mycobacteriology culture and susceptibility testing. The MDHHS TB Program and Lab are well-positioned to achieve all core objectives and outcomes of this funding opportunity. Funding of this project will aid state and local health departments in Michigan to prevent, control, and eliminate TB. Resources will be prioritized for areas with the highest TB disease burden, or those with socio-economic barriers. Funds will supplement state and local investments in TB P & C activities, development and dissemination of human resources and education, and enhance laboratory services.
