Tuberculosis Control & Elimination with Laboratory Services for the state of Oregon - Implementing the Tuberculosis Elimination and Laboratory Cooperative Agreement will include continuation of tuberculosis (TB) prevention and control activities and TB laboratory services in order to accomplish the long term goal of decreased TB incidence overall and among populations at higher risk in Oregon. The TB Program, Oregon Health Authority will implement activities that: improve the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with TB disease and LTBI (including the development of a targeted LTBI testing program and feasibility study of making LTBI reportable); provide TB medical evaluation of immigrants/refugees; conduct program evaluation to find the areas which need improvement; enhance epidemiologic surveillance; ensure collaboration and TB education of medical providers and health departments; and continue to strengthen the lab testing capacity at Oregon State Public Health Lab. The following outcomes are expected: a decrease in TB incidence; increases in patients completing treatment within 12 months; increased medical evaluation and LTBI treatment completion among contacts; improved access to medical and social services through partnerships to address TB/ LTBI disparities; increased samples meeting recommended turnaround times for core TB laboratory services, either through in-house testing or referral; continuation of 100% of TB cases with HIV results and drug susceptibility testing; increase in accuracy of surveillance data and analysis of genotyping data; improvement in turnaround time for laboratory testing and development of a TB Elimination Plan.
