The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is applying for CDC-RFA-PS-25-0004, Tuberculosis Elimination and Laboratory Cooperative Agreement, to implement a comprehensive TB program. RIDOH’s purpose is to reduce TB morbidity and mortality, prevent TB transmission, and reduce related health disparities in alignment with federal goals. Project outcomes will be tracked by program staff to meet the required strategies and activities, and will include decreasing TB incidence among populations at higher risk, increasing health equity in both latent and active testing and treatment, increasing program capacity to eliminate TB in Rhode Island, and increasing professional knowledge about TB amongst healthcare professionals. RIDOH will collaborate with community partners as appropriate, including the local RISE TB Clinic at The Miriam Hospital. RIDOH will continue its strong surveillance, prevention, and control program, human resources development activities, and laboratory efforts throughout the project period.
