PROJECT ABSTRACT SUMMARY The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) is a small nation burdened heavily with communicable diseases. Various studies show that although RMI has low HIV prevalence rate, Tuberculosis (TB) and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) are on the rise and continue to rise each day. With limited man power, limited health staff capacity regarding communicable diseases continues to be a problem. A small country such as the RMI’s purpose is to continue to seek financial and technical assistance in order to fight the rise of communicable diseases in the islands. For this 5-year funding cycle (initiating in 2023), the RMI Program collaboration and service integration (PCSI), which comprises of HIV/STD/TB & Viral Hepatitis programs seek to continue to reach target and vulnerable population for testing, screening and treatment purposes. Target populations include: MSM, Trans genders, persons who inject drugs (PWID), commercial sex workers, pregnant women, and persons vulnerable to TB infections.
