CK24-0002 Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Infectious Diseases (ELC) - The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is applying for 19 programs/projects within the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases (ELC) Notice of Funding Opportunity, CDC-RFA-CK-24-0002. The purpose of this application and subsequent funding is to enhance CDPHE’s ability to effectively detect, respond, prevent, and control known, emerging, and re-emerging infectious diseases, with a focus on epidemiological, laboratory, and health information systems, and how these systems collaborate together and with local public health partners within Colorado. Desired outcomes include reduced morbidity and mortality due to infectious diseases in Colorado, a skilled public health workforce, improved disease surveillance and investigation, strengthened laboratory capacity, coordinated response efforts with local public health partners, modernized data systems, and improved public health interventions, while incorporating health equity into cross-cutting activities.
