Success for this program in the short-term will be measured by monitoring the performance measures associated with this funding opportunity. In the long-term, success of this program will result in better infectious surveillance and outbreak response quality and timeliness, more complete and rapid transmission of public health data, and ultimately, reduced transmission of infectious diseases. This grant opportunity directly fulfills the vision and mission of ISDH. The ISDH vision, a healthier and safer Indiana and the ISDH mission, to promote and provide essential public health services, are the central focus of this grant. By monitoring, investigating, responding to infectious disease outbreaks and emerging infectious diseases through epidemiological capacity, strong laboratory science, robust health information systems, and subject matter expertise, the ISDH able to prevent transmission of human disease, provide education to prevent future outbreaks, and promote a healthier lifestyle for all Hoosiers.
