Strengthening Public Health Programs and Organizational Competency for Health Equity: Addressing Disparities in the Kickapoo Tribal Community - Project Abstract Summary Title: Strengthening Public Health Programs and Organizational Competency for Health Equity: Addressing Disparities in the Kickapoo Tribal Community Project Objective: This project aims to strengthen public health programs and enhance organizational and administrative competency within the Kickapoo Tribal Community to address health disparities and promote health equity. By focusing on evidence-based strategies and partnerships, we aim to improve the health and well-being of our tribal members, aligned with the Healthy People 2030 framework. Approach: Public Health Programs and Services: We will expand the availability of culturally appropriate and evidence-based public health programs and services that directly address health disparities. By implementing interventions aligned with Healthy People 2030 objectives, we will focus on improving access to quality healthcare services, promoting healthy behaviors, and addressing specific health needs in our community. Organizational and Administrative Competency: We will enhance our organizational and administrative competency to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of public health programs and services. This will involve strengthening data management systems, optimizing resource allocation, and implementing quality improvement measures. By improving our operational capacity, we can enhance the impact and sustainability of our efforts. Expected Outcomes: • Increased availability of culturally tailored public health programs, services, and resources that address health disparities and promote health equity within the Kickapoo Tribal Community. • Improved organizational and administrative competency, leading to more efficient and effective delivery of public health programs. • Reducing health disparities and promoting health equity across all life stages. • Enhanced community engagement and partnerships for collaborative program development and implementation. The project budget includes resources for personnel, training, program implementation, data management systems, quality improvement initiatives, and community outreach. In addition, we will pursue sustainability beyond the grant period by leveraging existing resources, engaging in strategic partnerships, and exploring alternative funding sources. Through this project, the Kickapoo Tribal Health Center aims to strengthen public health programs and enhance organizational and administrative competency to address health disparities and promote health equity within our tribal community.
