Category C: Mobile Clinics - Mobile health clinics play a vital yet underutilized role in our public health system. They increase access to quality, affordable health care and education in underserved communities. However, barriers like a lack of public health expertise and siloed systems limited mobile clinics' ability to meaningfully partner with components of local public health systems. Strengthening the capacity of mobile clinics has potential to bolster public health systems. Mobile Health Map, the country’s largest network of mobile clinics will improve the integration of mobile healthcare into local public health efforts by providing capacity building assistance (CBA) to people who plan, operate, or support mobile clinics. The purpose is to enhance their skills in multiple strategic areas, including partnerships development and effective programs and policies. Through a learning collaborative, expert webinars, one-on-one support, and an online resource hub, mobile clinic staff will gain knowledge and tools to assess needs, develop programs and evaluate impact in collaboration with other public health stakeholders. By strengthening the public health capacity of mobile clinics, we will reduce health inequities by expanding access to preventive services and addressing barriers to care like transportation and language. With increased coordination and integration, mobile clinics and other parts of the public health system can work as true partners to more effectively advance health equity.
