This project will increase the capacity of county, city, and local health departments (LHDs) to effectively prevent, respond, and implement recovery efforts related to the COVID pandemic and other public health emergencies. NACCHO will achieve this goal by providing training and technical assistance to build LHD workforce capacity, enhancing communications to and among LHDs; as well as identifying developing supporting, evaluating, and disseminating best practices, and implementation resources for comprehensive local public health efforts. NACCHO proposes activities that will support the development of public health systems infrastructure and develop data and information systems critical to information gathering for sustaining partnerships and evaluating local health department responses. Project activities will also seek to establish grater answers of LHD goals, priorities, opportunities, threats, needs, and strategies. NACCHO will facilitate information exchange and collaboration between LHDs and, as well as other key stakeholders at the federal, national, state, and local levels.
