Building Capacity of the Institut Pasteur de Cote d'Ivoire to Provide Quality Laboratory Diagnosis and Surveillance of Opportunistic Infections Related to HIV - Since 2004, USG is supporting Cote d'ivoire to develop clinical laboratory Network to reduce HIV AIS burden and strengthen laboratory system. These supports help C�te d'ivoire to understand the inportance of having tiered functioning clinical laboratory withn the health system. Several pilar of Ivorian Laboratory system are still weak despite the enormous effort made by international stakeholders and will need additionnal support for the system to respond to national and international standards. These are a laboratory management system, human resource capacity building in certain area. Infrastructure and equipment maintenance, biodafety and biosercurity and procurement. Under this project, basically, our objectives are declines arround three strategies including following elements: - Sustain and expand laboratory services and infrastructure for microbiology tests STis and Other IOs) at regional hospital laboratory and CATs (i) Support central laboratory to sustain TB labs activities (ii)Support CATs to improve microscopy and molecular tests Xpert (iii)Strengthen TB Labs for data collection and management (iv)Support microbiology activities (STI IOs) -- Extend and sustain access to high quality laboratory services for patient with advanced HIV disease at selected clinical sites. (i) Develop and review procedures and training material for advanced HIV disease patient testing (Xpert Ultra, LF-LAM, and cryptococcal antigen rapid test, etc.) (ii) Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory testing at each clinical and laboratory site, (iii) Support Data collection, Monitoring and Evaluation of the Program. Implement a Quality management system for TB and Microbiology laboratory services to support laboratory accreditation (i) develop and/or revise documents, SOPs, and guidelines for TB and Microbiology laboratory External Quality Assurance (EQA) programs, (ii) Support EQA for programs, for TB, OIs, STI, LF-LAM and EQA program and microbiology tests, (iii) Support the central laboratories of IPCI and CeDRes for compliance to the WHO/AFRO accreditation sheme at the of the project, expected outcome will include availability of Increasz availability of laborotory services and diadnostics for STIs, TB (GeneXpert, culture, line probe assays, microscopy), and other OIs, Improve standardization and harmonization of lab activities by procedures nd guideline development, Improve procurement of lab commodities to assure continous activities Increase competency of clinical sites performing accurate rapid testing for TB, STI and OIs diagnostics IPCI will implement the project activities under the collaborative support of the national TB control program, the AIDS program the national public health laboratory and with the technical assistance of CDC partners and Cote d Ivoire PEPFAR implementing partners. Ministry of Health and AIDS of the goverment of C�te d'Ivoire will be involved in the present projcet for the promotion of laboratary activities decentralization
