The purpose of the proposed project is to increase access to and use of preventive health care by individuals with mobility limitations and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities across Missouri. UMKC-IHD will establish and facilitate a multidisciplinary collaboration that will assess needs, train healthcare providers in accessible care methods, and implement and evaluate interventions to link individuals to preventive care and increase health and wellness behaviors. The project will result in increased capacity at the state, county, local, and organizational levels to provide accessible, high-quality preventive health care and health promotion services to people with disabilities.
