MACT Health Board, Incorporated (MACT) is a Non-Profit Indian Health Center servicing the communities in Mariposa, Amador, Calaveras, and Tuolumne Counties. We operate multiple health care facilities in the four counties we serve. Services are available to all American Indians, and their family members, as well as the general public in the community and, are provided in at atmosphere that respects and supports American Indian traditions, values, and beliefs. Due to the remoteness of the counties served, and lack of service providers that accept Medicaid Insurances, we were able to quickly identify several health disparities in the provision of healthcare needs that arose from the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has also triggered significant changes in the way healthcare services are delivered. The stay-at-home orders put into place in California brought to surface the lack of infrastructure to provide telehealth services. MACT has also struggled to coordinate its day-to-day operations with the public health departments and hospitals in the four counties it serves. Lastly, MACT's access to personal protective equipment (PPE) has created another barrier in the delivery of care. The procurement of supplies and coordination of distribution amongst all the clinics has posed a problem. Most of our vendors have significantly limited the amount of PPE supplies that can be ordered each month. MACT proposes to address the public health problems created by the COVID-19 pandemic by creating four Emergency Operation Centers in the counties of Mariposa, Amador, Calaveras, and Tuolumne. The Emergency Operation Centers will be responsible for the organization's coordination of the day-to-day operations related to the pandemic. The team will be responsible for: 1, training MACT staff on the distribution and acquisition of PPE supplies; 2, building relations with the local public health departments and hospitals to improve communication within th
e community; 3, monitoring the health statistics of MACT patients; and, 4, tracking the clinic flows to provide safe-zones for the delivery of in-house and telehealth services.
