PROJECT ABSTRACTProject Title: Southcentral Foundation Supporting Tribal Public Health Capacity in Coronavirus Preparedness and ResponseApplicant Name: Southcentral FoundationAddress: 4501 Diplomacy Drive, Anchorage, AK 99508-5919Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is an Alaska Native 501(c)(3) nonprofit health care organization established in 1982 under the Tribal authority of Cook Inlet Region, Inc. The organization employs over 2,400 people. SCF owns and manages the Anchorage Native Primary Care Center (ANPCC), Valley Native Primary Care Center (VNPCC), a community mental health center and two (2) residential substance abuse treatment centers. The organization co-owns and co-manages the 156 bed Alaska Native Medical Center located in Anchorage, which serves all American Indian/Alaska Native people in the State of Alaska ? estimated population 141,000.The proposed activities are a subset of all the COVID-19 preparedness, response and recovery activities that will be conducted by SCF to address the needs of individuals covered by the FY 2019 pursuant to ISDEAA Title V tribal resolutions. The proposal activities fall under strategy-7. The service population totals 60,969 Alaska Native/American Indians and 2,941 non-Alaska Native/American Indians, according to the official FY 2019 Indian Health Service User Population report. The specific communities are the Municipality of Anchorage, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Igiugig, Iliamna, Kokhanok, Newhalen, Nondalton, Pedro Bay, McGrath, Nikolai, Takotna, Telida, and St. Paul. The proposed activities are primarily aimed at services originating from SCF programs and clinics based in the Municipality of Anchorage and the Matanuska-Susitna Borough that may also impact health care services in the other 11 communities.
