Descriptive Title of Applicant's Project: New Hampshire’s Advancing Surveillance of Violent Deaths Using the National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS)
The New Hampshire (NH) Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Injury
Prevention Program (IPP), in partnership with the NH Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of the
Chief Medical Examiner (OCME), intends to use the full amount allowed, $196,896, for the base
application to continue the NVDRS data collection. This base funding will be used to continue collection of NH deaths related to suicides, homicides, and fire-are deaths of all intents. In addition to the base, NH DHHS will also apply for $100,000 allowed to develop a data dashboard using NH-VDRS data. To create the data dashboard, the IPP will collaborate with the NH Bureau of Public Health Statistics and Informatics (BPHSI). The BPHSI will hire a Systems Development Specialist to work on the dashboard project. See the project narrative for more details.
