BASIC: The OHA, PHD, IVPP proposes initiatives to enhance specific protective factors: community resilience, safe and healthy environments, connectedness, and healthy social norms. In addition to the required focus ACES, TBI and TS, it proposes a project of local significance using 18.5% the BASE budget to expansion of our surveillance capacity for older adult falls, adult TBI and alcohol as an unintentional injury risk factor. Mid-term outcomes- increased: 1) ability to identify and respond to emerging injury threats; 2) capacity to strengthen communities by increasing protective factors for injuries using best available evidence; 3) capacity to strengthen communities by reducing risk factors for injuries using best available evidence; 4) sustained injury prevention public health actions supported by best available evidence; 5) systems and organizational capacity for engaging communities that are disproportionately affected by risk factors, and 2) capacity to link datasets for providing context and information around SRPF for unintentional falls, transportation, and TBI injuries. Long-term Outcomes- reduced and sustained 1) injury morbidity and mortality associated with ACES, TS, and TBI; and 2) risk factors for ACES, TS and TBI; increased and sustained protective factors for ACES, TS and TBI; and 3) sustained advancement and improvement in injury prevention practices and outcomes.
