ABSTRACTNevada?s proposal utilizes all four strategies to reduce COVID-health related health disparities, to improve and increase testing and contract tracing, and to improve the state health department capacity and services to prevent and control COVID-19 infection with a focus on higher risk and medically underserved, including racial and ethnic minority groups and those living in Nevada?s rural and frontier counties. By implementing health equity and expanding department capacity, Nevada will build infrastructure to address current disparities and address future emergencies or health disparity challenges.Strategy 1: Expand existing and/or develop new mitigation and prevention resources including: Mobile Testing and Resource Sites; Family Resource Centers ? Build and Expand workforce capacity; Develop and Implement Peer to Peer Navigation and Resilience Ambassador Linkages; Create Linkages to Address Food Disparities; and Build Capacity in rural communities for Underserved Elderly, Hispanic and Migrant Workers through the State Office of Rural HealthStrategy 2: Increase and improve data collection and reporting for populations experiencing a disproportionate burden of COVID-19 infection: Optimize Public Health Reporting Systems to support data driven decisions; Support Health Care Client System Data Expansion and Collection through the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS); Educate Providers and Community Partners on the importance of minority health disparities and importance of reporting critical variables; State Office of Rural Health ? Create Linkages with the State Health Lab and State Office of Rural Health; COVID-19 and Disease Clinics (Education); Rural Technology Infrastructure for Nevada Youth ? DCFS; Evaluation of Data and Process Analytics? University of Nevada, Las Vegas Minority Health; and Child Welfare Disparities ? Medicaid Linkage and Reporting Key Data.Strategy 3: Build, leverage, and expand infrastructure support f or COVID-19 prevention and control: Correctional Disease Investigation; DCFS ? Support Infrastructure to Improve Testing and Contract Tracing; Office of Minority Health - Infrastructure Enhancement; and Expansion of Community Health Worker Models.Strategy 4: Mobilize partners and collaborators to advance health equity and address social determinants of health: Public Health ? Faith-Based Community Partnership; Diversity and Equity Coordination ? LBGTQI +; Social Outreach Campaign ? Public Health engagement on health disparities; DCFS ? Youth and Families in Shelters, congregate housing, homeless; Disseminate culturally and linguistical responsive information on critical partners; and Build Community Capacity with Nevada Cancer Coalition and Nevada Tobacco Prevention Coalition for Respiratory Health and Routine Preventive Care.
