The County of San Bernardino, Department of Public Health (Department), has a long history of working with underserved populations, and seeks to address the COVID-19 pandemic, through community collaboration. Funds will be used to address COVID-19 and advance health equity in racial and ethnic minority groups and rural communities throughout the county (the largest county in the contiguous United States and in excess of 20,000 square miles). The Department further seeks to reduce COVID-19 related health disparities, increase testing and contact tracing in underserved populations, and increase Department capacity to prevent and control COVID-19. If awarded, the Department looks forward to working with the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions, as well as the many local and regional community partners.
