San Marcos Prevention Coalition as Fiscal Agent forDrug-free Campus Creek Coalition - Project Abstract Summary The Drug-free Campus Creek Coalition works to reduce and prevent youth substance abuse within the Campus Creek community. The coalition serves approximately 23,000 residents. The Coalition’s DFC project will serve all 23,000 residents (23,000 annually and 115,000 throughout the next 5-years) through their environmental prevention strategies outlined in their 12-month Action Plan. The Coalition’s project goals are: DFC Goal One: Increase community collaboration Objective 1: The number of coalition members will increase by 15%, by 9/29/2025, as measured by the monthly Coalition meetings’ sign-in sheets. Population addressed: all community sectors, age unlimited. Objective 2: Attend and present the coalition’s mission statement and current 12-month action plan at five of the coalition’s sector leaders’ organizations, by 9/30/2025, as measured by the number of presentations given. Population addressed: all community sectors, age unlimited. DFC Goal Two: Reduce youth substance abuse Objective 1: Marijuana use by 6th - 12th graders will decrease by 10%, by 9/29/2025, as measured by the San Marcos Unified School District’s California Healthy Kids Survey past 30-day use rates. Population addressed: Students in 7th, 9th, and 11th grade, Ages 12-18 Objective 2: Alcohol use by 6th - 12th graders will decrease by 10%, by 9/29/2025, as measured by the San Marcos Unified School District’s California Healthy Kids Survey past 30-day use rates.
