This CDC funding opportunity will allow the Snohomish County Health Department to commit dedicated staff time and resources to improve our infrastructure of data surveillance methods and address disparities through the accomplishment of our proposed strategies. With this grant, we hope to increase peer navigation services in our identified prevention settings to improve linkages to and retention in care, increase access to harm reduction services by improving syringe service program (SSP) outreach and educating public safety and health systems on harm reduction strategies, improve our ability to communicate with our population of focus by collaborating to create an effective stigma reduction campaign that targets their communities, and work with our health systems to increase clinician and care team confidence in addressing pain care and using medication for substance use equitably to improve patient outcomes. We believe that our approach will create a more equitable, system-wide response to overdose prevention in Snohomish County while meeting CDC’s goals and requirements.
