The East Hampton Prevention Partnership was awarded a FY 2020 Drug-Free Communities Support Program grant in the amount of $625,000 by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, in cooperation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Coalition serves East Hampton, Connecticut, a community of 13,757. The goals of the coalition are to establish and strengthen community collaboration in support of local efforts to prevent youth substance use. The coalition will achieve its goals by implementing these strategies: (1) Build coalition capacity of the coalition and its youth committee to reduce youth substance abuse. (2) Increase peer norms and peer disapproval of alcohol and marijuana use among youth (3) Increase perception of harm of alcohol and marijuana use through education, awareness, and community action (4) Decrease youth social access to alcohol through evidence-based prevention strategies. (5) Use a data-driven approach to design community-specific prevention initiatives
