Using a data-driven approach, the LEAD Phillipsburg Coalition implements strategies to reduce and prevent underage drinking, tobacco, and marijuana use in Phillipsburg, zip codes 08865 & 08886. - LEAD Phillipsburg: Learn, Educate, Advocate, Develop Drug-Free Community Coalition brings together youth, collaborating organizations, committed stakeholders, and policymakers to create and solidify evidence-based strategies and solutions to prevent substance misuse among local youth through a coalition. Following the SAMHSA Strategic Prevention Framework, the Coalition formally collaborates with the Joseph Firth Youth Center to effectively reduce youth substance misuse. The mission of the LEAD Phillipsburg: Learn, Educate, Advocate, Develop Drug-Free Community Coalition is to reduce substance use for youth in Phillipsburg and the surrounding sending districts. Furthermore, LEAD Phillipsburg collaboratively builds capacity and demonstrates leadership to effectively integrate prevention and environmental strategies to decrease underage drinking, tobacco, and marijuana use among youth. This funding will allow LEAD Phillipsburg, using a data-driven approach, to focus on the community’s most significant substance misuse problems for youth: underage drinking, tobacco, and marijuana use.
