Seven Counties Services Healthy Community Coalition - The Healthy Community Coalition project will be implemented in a designated area of Louisville, Kentucky with the zip code 40222. The project aims to work with key community stakeholders to strengthen prevention infrastructure and address the needs of youth and families to prevent and reduce substance misuse, including alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and prescription drugs. The project will serve an at-risk population, including school-aged children and youth attending two schools, with an estimated population of 11,728, including their families. The project will implement various strategies and interventions, including environmental prevention strategies, strengthening a community coalition and a youth prevention coalition, compliance checks for alcohol and tobacco, environmental scans for marijuana paraphernalia, social norms campaigns, town hall meetings, parent training, and evidence-based school prevention curriculums. Performance measures will be collected and reviewed to evaluate activities and processes. The long-term outcomes of the project are to establish and strengthen collaboration among community members and organizations to address youth substance use and reduce substance use among youth and adults. The intermediate outcomes include reducing factors in the community that increase the risk of substance use, promoting factors that minimize the risk of substance use, increasing the ease, ability, and opportunity for youth to access settings that prevent substance use, and decreasing the ease, ability, and opportunity for youth to access substances by implementing strategies. The short-term outcomes include improving knowledge regarding patterns of youth substance use, increasing outreach to relevant sectors of the community, and increasing the capacity of local agencies and organizations to address youth substance use.
