OPERATION FUNDING FOR THE NEVADA STATE IMMUNIZATION PROGRAM, INCLUDING NEVADA WEBIZ AND THE VACCINES FOR CHILDREN (VFC) PROGRAM. - This proposal seeks funding to support the Nevada State Immunization Program (NSIP) in increasing vaccination rates and preventing the spread of infectious diseases across Nevada. The primary objectives are to improve vaccine access, educate the public on vaccine safety and importance, ensure proper vaccine storage and handling, and maintain the State Immunization Information System, Nevada WebIZ. NSIP aims to reduce vaccine-preventable diseases (VPD) by expanding immunization coverage, particularly among under vaccinated groups such as children under five. Key strategies include raising awareness of VPDs, enhancing local health systems' capacity to provide immunization services, and evaluating vaccination rates and their impact on VPD incidence. To achieve these goals, NSIP will utilize a multi-faceted approach, including community outreach, provider engagement, vaccine education, and collaboration with local health authorities. A data-driven strategy will target under-vaccinated populations, with tailored responses to specific needs. Monitoring and evaluation will track vaccination coverage and the program’s impact on disease prevention. By strengthening immunization infrastructure and building community trust, NSIP aims to reduce the burden of vaccine-preventable diseases, ensuring a healthier future for all Nevadans.
