Strengthening Vaccine-Preventable Disease Prevention and Response - The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) Vaccine Preventable Disease Program (VPDP) works to reduce and eliminate the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases affecting children, adolescents, and adults by raising the immunization coverage rates of New Jersey’s citizens. This goal is achieved through strengthening program infrastructure, ensuring and increasing vaccine access, promoting vaccine confidence, enhancing data and evaluation tools, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing vaccination response readiness. Since its inception, VPDP has relied upon federal funding through the Immunization Cooperative Agreement to implement an evidencebased model, which used component areas to address communicable disease response. Various program areas within VPDP work together to achieve the overarching goal of reducing and eliminating the incidence of vaccinepreventable diseases in New Jersey. The proposed project seeks to significantly enhance the prevention and response to vaccine-preventable diseases within New Jersey by systematically improving immunization coverage, effectively addressing barriers to vaccination, and elevating public awareness. This comprehensive approach is in direct alignment with the objectives outlined in the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) 25-0007, aiming to foster substantial improvements in vaccination rates and overall public health outcomes. VPDP is committed to fulfilling the deliverables specified in the Strengthening Vaccine Preventable Disease Prevention and Response Opportunity Number: 25-0007. Building on the successes of previous Immunization Cooperative Agreements, VPDP will align our efforts with federal priorities using existing evidence-based strategies. By leveraging this funding opportunity and guided by the logic model included in the approach section of the program description, New Jersey’s VPDP will implement initiatives that are fully supportive of the seven priority strategies. A comprehensive summary of the strategies that will be used by VPDP to ensure compliance with grant requirements is included in the Work Plan through the use of milestones. A summary of the strategies and activities within the NOFO application.
