To address the historic underfunding of public health agencies nationwide, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) seeks to make a significant investment to strengthen U.S. public health infrastructure by supporting a robust and expanded public health workforce and by increasing foundational capabilities to prevent, prepare for, or respond to public health needs. In response on behalf of the 767,452 residents of Metro Louisville, the Louisville-Jefferson County Metro Government through its Department of Public Health and Wellness, requests grant funding to support our proposed efforts in the workforce domain ($8,936,121 representing 95% of total funding) and foundational capabilities domain ($473,198 representing 5% of total funding) for a combined total request of $9,406,319.of total funding) for a combined total request of $9,406,319.
