The Product Accelerator for Health Security at the Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (PAHS@M2D2) will develop and optimize novel technologies to promote national health security innovation. The Center will accomplish this goal by integrating scientific product development, business development, clinical expertise, and regulator expertise to identify promising medical products and mentor small companies through alliances with external partners and large companies. The geographic region for the PAHS@M2D2 is Region 2 - Greater Boston. Lowell and Worcester are both located within the 50-mile radius of Greater Boston.
M2D2's existing strong administrative core will provide the foundation for the PAHS@M2D2 project, which will allow program resources to achieve maximum impact. This structure is necessary to 1) provide the appropriate scientific and fiscal oversight of PAHS@M2D2, 2) promote interactions within and between the BARDA DRIVe network and 3) communicate and manage stakeholders including users, clinical systems, and funders. The AHS@M2D2 administration will have the primary responsibility for interactions with BARDA staff, including working with BARDA to advance national efforts to improve the
pipeline of health security products, technologies and innovations.
