University of Florida Health Jacksonville (UFH-J) has a strong culture of military civilian partnerships. Through multiple already existing military civilian partnerships, UFH-J and University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville (UFCOM-J) has demonstrated a commitment to improving the medical readiness, efficiency, knowledge, skills and abilities of the medical forces through hands-on training and exposure to critically injured patients in a trauma environment at our academic, urban, American College of Surgeons (ACS) and State of Florida verified Level 1 trauma program. The goal of the proposed project is for integration of military trauma care providers into an established high-acuity multidisciplinary trauma center team. The objectives are: 1) implement a Program Oversight and Education Committee; 2) hire and train an administrative Program Manager; 3) provide licensing and credentialing support for military
personnel; 4) conduct credential specific courses for military personnel; 4) track experience of each military member. The expected outcomes of this project will be for seamless integration of military personnel into the trauma team at UFH-J. Through receipt of administrative, educational, and technical support, military personnel will experience an easy transition to becoming an integrated member of the trauma care team at UFH-J. The products for this project are: 1) credential specific course training
completion records of military personnel; 2) logs of conditions, skills, and procedures of military personnel according to Clinical Practice Guidelines; 3) program assessment and evaluation.
