PROJECT ABSTRACT: U.S. Virgin Islands Exchange Planning and Establishment Activities The United States Virgin Islands seeks funding to explore the establishment of an American Health Benefit Exchange (“Exchange”), pursuant to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Funding Opportunity Number IE-HBE-11-0003. Grant Period: March 22, 2011 through March 21, 2012 Proposed Budget: $1,000,000.00 Goals of the Project: Through this grant, the Territory plans to examine the feasibility of an Exchange, to conduct initial Exchange planning, and to work toward the establishment of an Exchange. Initial Assessment (first six months): The Territory plans, during the first six months of the grant period, to use the first $400,000 of the grant funds to undertake a threshold analysis of the feasibility of Exchange development.
