Applicant: Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas (CHC/SEK) Contact: Krista Postai, CEO at 620-235-1867 or email kpostai@chcsek.org H80 Grant #H80CS00841 Request: Fiscal Year 2024 Behavioral Health Service Expansion/$600,000 in Year One; $500,000 in Year Two CHC/SEK, a federally qualified health center established in 2003, is applying for funding to expand behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment (including medication assisted therapy) to its must challenged populations. As the only FQHC in an 6,000 sq. mile all- rural critically-underserved service area, CHC/SEK provides medical, dental and behavioral health services to almost 90,000 children and adults regardless of ability to pay. Through this funding, services will be expanded to our growing number of homeless, local prisoners (including those awaiting sentencing) and our new Drug (Recovery) Court participants in Crawford, Cherokee and Labette counties which is a federally designated High Intensity Drug Trafficking region. Dual-licensed behavioral health/addiction treatment professionals will be paired with care coordinators and peer support specialists to provide outpatient treatment and support to an additional 10% of our current patients for a total served by the end of Calendar Year 2025 of 8,033 mental health patients, 773 substance use disorder patients and 400 receiving medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD).
