West Alabama VOLT will provide volunteer and career first responders and community members with training, education and resources to respond to overdoses - West Alabama VOLT (Volunteer Overdose Life-saving Training) is a four-year project of the Dallas County Commission (DCC), in partnership with Aletheia House, to build sustainable, volunteer-embedded overdose prevention and response capacity across nine rural, nonmetropolitan counties in west and southwest Alabama: Butler, Choctaw, Clarke, Dallas, Marengo, Monroe, Perry, Sumter, and Wilcox. The project will train volunteer fire departments, EMS, law enforcement, and community anchors to recognize and reverse opioid overdoses, and will connect individuals and families to treatment and recovery support.
