TOR funding would allow The Mi'kmaq Nation to expand and improve its substance use counseling, mental health counseling, case management and recovery service programs. With these funds we would be able to continue to expand our peer recovery program as we know that is an essential part of our services and is a valuable addition to our programming. The TOR Funds will be allocated to support various essential roles, including the TOR Project Director, Peer Recovery Coach Coordinator, Part-Time Recovery Coach, LADC, Case Manager, MAT Prescriber and Personnel, Admin Support, and a Cultural Knowledge Keeper. Each of these positions plays a critical role in ensuring that the goals and objectives of the TOR Project are achieved and will greatly benefit our community. With the potential TOR funds, Mi'kmaq Behavioral Health intends to expand its services to all eligible Tribal members and provide much-needed Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT) for individuals with opioid use disorders. Additionally, we will be offering essential Harm Reduction services and supplies, including Naloxone, Naloxone training, sharps containers, as well as fentanyl and xylazine test strips. Moreover, we aim to continue our ongoing community outreach efforts with the support of TOR funding. We plan to organize cultural events within the community to guide clients in culturally relevant activities, crafts, and practices. These activities would be overseen by the Cultural Knowledge Keeper, who also provides support to staff on matters of Mi'kmaq culture. TOR funds are crucial to aid our organizations efforts to continue to offer cultural activities, access to harm reduction supplies, ongoing education, and essential behavioral health services.
