Summary. Via the project, CITC will implement 13 main activities, including case management; SUD treatment and recovery services; career planning services; linkages to COD treatment and recovery, SMI treatment, supported employment, and supportive services; CLAS standards trainings and implementation; therapeutic workplace implementations; and workforce investment board coordination.
Population to Be Served. The project’s target population will be adults (18+ years) who have substance use disorders (SUDs) or co-occurring disorders (CODs) and are seeking gainful employment opportunities in the project’s catchment area.
The project’s catchment area will be the Anchorage Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), which is composed of the Municipality of Anchorage consolidated city-borough and the Matanuska-Susitna borough. The Anchorage MSA’s estimated population is 399,352 residents, who represent over 50% of Alaska’s total population.
Strategies. The project will facilitate evidence-based behavioral healthcare and workforce development services for the project’s target population. Via the project, CITC will guide at least 150 individuals to recovery, self-sufficiency, and gainful employment. Additionally, via the project, CITC will improve its capacity to provide comprehensive and high-quality behavioral healthcare and workforce development services.
Goals and Objectives. Via the project, CITC will achieve 3 goals and 8 objectives. Abridged versions of those goals and objectives are provided below.
Goal 1. Improve SUD and COD treatment and recovery outcomes for adults who have SUDs or CODs in the Anchorage MSA.
Objective 1.1. Each year, provide weekly SUD counseling sessions to 30 unduplicated adults.
Objective 1.2. Each year, provide linkages to COD treatment and recovery services to 20 unduplicated adults.
Objective 1.3. Each year, provide linkages to supportive services to 30 unduplicated adults.
Goal 2. Improve employment outcomes for adults who have SUDs or CODs in the Anchorage MSA.
Objective 2.1. Each year, provide career planning services to 30 unduplicated adults.
Objective 2.2. Each year, complete and have signed a memorandum of agreement for therapeutic workplace implementation and job opportunities.
Objective 2.3. Each year, provide linkages to supported employment services to 10 unduplicated adults.
Goal 3. Improve CITC’s capacity to provide workforce development services to adults who have SUDs or CODs in the Anchorage MSA.
Objective 3.1. In the first year, complete and have signed a memorandum of agreement for short-term prevocational training services and for support for active workforce development projects in the Anchorage MSA.
Objective 3.2. Each year, complete a SUD and COD workforce assessment.
