Integrity MAT-PDOA Program - Integrity MAT-PDOA Program April 2021 Integrity, Inc., doing business as Integrity House or Integrity, proposes to implement a 5-year MAT-PDOA program that will serve adults with opioid use disorder (OUD) in Essex County, with a focus on the City of Newark, and Hudson County, NJ. Integrity will also provide MAT in other high-need areas such as Toms River and Morris Plains, NJ where Integrity operates outpatient treatment services. Integrity will prioritize connecting the following groups to MAT services – adults who are referred by the justice system for their high risk of re-offense through illicit drug use, individuals who have no income/are low-income, people who possess co-occurring mental health disorders, residents without addresses, pregnant women, and individuals who have experienced multiple episodes of addiction treatment. The MAT-PDOA program uses FDA-approved medications such as methadone, a buprenorphine and naloxone product (Suboxone), buprenorphine (Subutex) for pregnant clients, naltrexone (Revia), and naltrexone for extended-release injectable suspension (Vivitrol). Integrity observes strict protocols to avoid diversion including, medication administration by a registered nurse (RN) or a licensed practical nurse (LPN) under an RN’s supervision. Integrity will conduct comprehensive clinical assessments using standardized tools such as the Addiction Severity Index, the Level of Care Index, the Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS), and the DSM-5 to determine diagnosis for OUD and co-occurring mental health disorders. Integrity will also provide individual and group counseling; psychosocial/didactic groups; MAT support groups; risk reduction interventions such as screening, testing, and counseling for HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and TB; and recovery support services, including education (GED and postsecondary), workforce development and job training, and peer recovery support. Individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders have access to ongoing assessment, specialized group therapy, individualized therapy sessions with a licensed clinician, medication ordering and monitoring, and crisis intervention. Integrity will leverage its Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic and Reach for Recovery, its mobile prevention and intervention unit to obtain referrals of prospective clients. Integrity will also collaborate with key community organizations to obtain referrals and enhance clients’ treatment. This includes workforce development, mental health, and primary health care providers. Integrity’s goals for the proposed project are to increase its MAT capacity and increase the number of individuals with OUD who can sustain long-term recovery. Specific objectives include: serve 100 individuals each year for five (5) years for a total of 500 individuals served; increase at least 75% of clients understanding of MAT through information sessions and support groups; maintain at least 50% of clients on MAT through transitions to different levels of care at Integrity; and connect 100% of clients who have completed treatment and would like to remain on MAT with a prescriber prior to successful program completion.
