This year’s project will train 200 consumers that will then be qualified to sit on local Alcohol and Mental Health Boards representing the consumer voice. - The Northern Ohio Recovery Association (NORA) has been in existence since 2014. The purpose of the Building Communities of Recovery & Resiliency Network (BCORR) is to create a unified collaboration that represents mental health and addictions recovery communities to improve access to and quality of behavioral health services, treatment and recovery supports. With Ohio’s merger of addiction and mental health services into one state department in 2013, and the Behavioral Health Redesign (2018) this funding provides Ohio’s peer community with a timely opportunity to: • Institutionalize protocols for including the lived voice of recovery in all policy and practice discussions in Northern Ohio; • Enhance the capacity of individual and organizational members of the peer community to strategically work on committees and advisory groups that inform state policy and practice; and provide services to those in need. • Establish an active unified network whose goal is to ensure that Ohio’s decision-makers have the most up-to-date information and research findings; and that the state’s behavioral health system continues to improve access, delivery and effectiveness to recovery services, treatment, and supports.
