The Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa continues to see the increase of substance abuse addiction throughout the tribal and surrounding communities. The Red Cliff Enhancement and Expansion of Treatment and Recovery Services for Adolescents, Transitional Aged Youth, and their Families (RC TREE) project will enhance the behavioral health services by providing early intervention through the expansion of substance abuse services to youth, adolescents, and their families.
Goals: (1) Increase the number of youth, adolescent and their families with evidenced based services and practices to increase the abstinence of alcohol, marijuana and other substances. (2) Increase access, engagement and retention in treatment.
(3) Improve social connections, positive parenting and family functioning (4) Enhance substance abuse services delivery through youth and parent peer support specialists. (5) Decrease the involvement in and exposure to crimes and violence.
RC TREE services will provide critical screening, treatment and referral services to 50 adolescent, transitional youth the first year of the project and 100 youth each subsequent year throughout the remaining four year project period, serving a total of 450 adolescent and transitional youth by the end of the five year project period.
