The Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe (FPST) will be the primary service location. In addition to Fallon, clinical services will also be provided for two additional locations. Our region includes the Lovelock Paiute Tribe, with a population of about 105, and the Yomba Shoshone Tribe, with approximately 186 members. The purpose of this program is to enhance and expand comprehensive treatment, early intervention, and recovery support services for adolescents (ages 12-18), transitional aged youth (ages 16-25), and their families/primary caregivers with substance use disorders (SUD) and/or co-occurring substance use and mental disorders. The project will provide a comprehensive, family-centered, trauma-informed, evidence-based, coordinated, and integrated outpatient system of care. The services will include evidence-based screening (Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory & Mental Health Screening Form), assessment (Addiction Severity Index), treatment (Motivational Enhancement/Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, The Change Companies Interactive Journaling and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for Adolescents, all of which are cognitive-behavioral approaches), and wrap around services. The project will also provide tobacco use screening and treatment interventions. Key staff for this project are the Project Director, a Dually-Licensed Treatment Provider, Recovery Support Coach/Coordinator, and a Family Support Coordinator. In years 1 and 2 in addition to providing evidence-based treatment and recovery support services, planning and development for a recovery drop-in center will take place and be ready for implementation in year 3.
