Campbell County SPF-PFS/ Communities/ Tribe Initiative - Campbell County SPF-PFS Communities/Tribes Initiative The Campbell County Drug Free Alliance (CCDFA) is committed to preventing youth substance misuse and strengthening community capacity for substance use prevention in Campbell County, Kentucky. Through community engagement, youth leadership, evidence-based strategies, and enhanced prevention infrastructure, CCDFA aims to reduce youth access to substances, shift community attitudes, strengthen protective factors, and empower both parents and youth in prevention efforts. By partnering with local schools, families, healthcare providers, and community organizations, CCDFA will engage thousands of individuals throughout the project period while expanding prevention messaging across the community. The initiative focuses on youth ages 5-18 attending schools within Campbell County, specifically the 7,615 students across the Campbell, Bellevue, Dayton, Newport, and Southgate school districts, where 63.5% of students are classified as low socioeconomic status. The project's goal is to prevent youth substance misuse and its related challenges by strengthening community-based prevention efforts and increasing parental involvement. To achieve this goal, CCDFA will address key risk factors, including the normalization of underage drinking, low perceptions of harm regarding marijuana and vaping, youth access to alcohol at home, and limited parent engagement in prevention efforts. By September 29, 2031, the initiative will expand the reach of prevention messaging by 30%, distribute 500 Parent Resource Kits annually, reduce the percentage of students who report drinking at home by 5%, increase the percentage of students who perceive marijuana as moderate or a great risk by 2% annually, and reduce the percentage of students who perceive vaping products as easy/very easy to access by 5%. Additionally, CCDFA will distribute 600 medication lockboxes with medical marijuana education annually, host at least four Youth Advisory Board meetings and four coalition trainings each year, facilitate at least two Parent Cafés or Family Nights annually, offer the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control's Server Training in Alcohol Regulations (STAR) to five retailers per year, and provide Catch My Breath implementation training to three school staff members annually. The project will strengthen local prevention infrastructure through enhanced evaluation, data collection, and community coordination efforts. A dedicated Data Analyst will support outcome monitoring, trend analysis, and continuous quality improvement to ensure prevention strategies remain responsive to community needs and emerging behavioral health threats. Through these targeted efforts, CCDFA seeks to create sustainable change in Campbell County by empowering youth, engaging parents, strengthening community partnerships, and building long-term prevention capacity. By the end of the project, these strategies will support a healthier, more informed community committed to preventing youth substance misuse and promoting positive youth development.
