The Red Warrior Project will expand and enhance prevention services, in order to sustain alcohol and other drug prevention and intervention for youth ages 13-24 at risk for HIV. - The Fresno American Indian Health Project (FAIHP) Red Warrior Project represents programming that encompasses meeting the needs for American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) youth ages 13 to 24 years old in the Fresno, California community. The Fresno American Indian Health Project (FAIHP) is an American Indian non-profit organization that is recognized by the Indian Health Service (IHS) as an Urban Indian Health Program under Title V of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act, PL 94-437. The Red Warrior Project, which will expand and enhance prevention services in order to sustain alcohol and other drug (AOD) prevention activities in the Fresno community, as well as include prevention and intervention services for youth at risk for HIV. The project is expected to serve at least 120 youth during the first year with prevention serves and 15 youth with navigation services. It is estimated that the total number of youths served will grow by at least 5% each year of the grant. The project will achieve the following goals: 1- Reduce high-risk behaviors of Native American youth, ages 13-24, in Fresno County by implementing evidence-based programs in the community. 2- Improve the access to HIV and substance miscues treatment services for Native American youth in Fresno County. 3- Increase access to harm/risk reduction services for Native American youth in Fresno County. 4- Increase the number of culturally competent HIV and substance miscues treatment providers in Fresno County.
