Muskogee County Drug Free Communities serves Muskogee County, OK. The goals of the Muskogee Community Anti-Drug Network coalition are to establish and strengthen community collaboration in support of local efforts to prevent youth substance use around alcohol and tobacco. The goals of the coalition are to establish and strengthen community collaboration in support of local efforts to prevent youth substance use. The coalition will achieve its goals by implementing the following four objectives. (1) Develop a county wide network of individuals and organizations working together to reduce youth substance abuse. (2) Provide a program structure and organizational system that supports positive youth development and involvement (3) Create a set of policies and practices that promote norms to reduce retail and social access to alcohol. (4) Increase the perception of harm and decrease the availability of tobacco in the community. The population served by the project is youth in grades 6-12, which comprises 6,724 youth. Racial composition of these youth is as follows 24.8% Caucasian, 17.9% Black, 14.6% Hispanic, 15.2% Native American, 06% Asian and 23.3% more than once race. We expect to serve 6,724 individual youth annually and 10,508 individual youth throughout the lifetime of the project.
