Tri-County Community Partnership Inc. Year 2 Continuation Grant Application. - Tri-County Community Partnership Inc. (TCCP) was awarded a FY2019 Drug-Free Communities Support Program Grant in the amount of $125,000 by the White House ONDCP, in cooperation with SAMHSA. Our coalition serves approximately 63,000 people who reside in the Towns of Crawford, Wallkill, Shawangunk, and Mamakating. The goals of the coalition are to establish and strengthen community collaboration in support of local efforts to prevent youth substance use. TCCP will achieve its goals by implementing the following strategies: Build capacity in our extended communities to better meet the needs of the community to support the substance abuse prevention efforts. Raise awareness in our youth regarding the risks associated with substance abuse. Train sector partners to recognize environmental risk factors and respond accordingly. Develop environmental strategies to reduce access to alcohol and prescription drugs. Provide trainings and technical assistance on prescription drug use signs and symptoms to teachers, parents, and professionals that work with youth. Collaborate with various community sectors on underage drinking initiatives, marijuana education, and prescription drug/opiates use/misuse in our communities to come up with community solutions addressing these issues and change community consequences. Engage youth in creating community wide campaigns to address misconceptions about alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drugs. These campaigns will have peer to peer outreach.
