This is an application to create and maintain a Prevention Technology Transfer Center (PTTC) for Region 4. Region 4 consists of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The focal populations will be all individuals in need of prevention services in the eight states that comprise Region 4. The proposed center reflects special attention to the distinctive populations and needs of the region with respect to tailored capacity development for planning and implementing evidence-based strategies to prevent substance use and abuse. The population will be reached by the Center's timely, high quality delivery of training and technical assistance services to the substance abuse prevention field in Region 4. The unduplicated number of individuals we propose to serve each year is estimated to be 600 (Year 1), 1200 (Year 2), 1500 (Year 3), 1600 (Year 4), and 1700 (Year 5), for a total of 6,600 over the lifetime of the cooperative agreement.
