The Grand Boulevard Coalition(GBC), represents the Grand Boulevard 38th community area of Chicago, Illinois and is in its fifth year of prevention activities. In 2017 and in response to findings of the 2016 Illinois Youth Survey Data, youth focus groups and community inquiries, Coalition Sector Partners decided to continue the Coalition’s mission and and expand its sector partnerships to implement a comprehensive community-wide action plan to specifically address the issues of underage drinking and marijuana use by youth ages 12- 18 and others in the Grand Boulevard. The GBC will address and monitor SAMHSA's 4 core measures, 1) 30 day usage, 2) Personal Perception of risk, 3) Perception of Parental Disapproval, and 4) Perception of Peer Disapproval.
