Vibrant Future Coalition, founded in 2011, serves the North Clackamas School District community. The focus of the coalition is to reduce youth use of alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drug use. - The Vibrant Future Coalition (VFC) serving the North Clackamas is a continuation grant project collaborating with partners of the North Clackamas Community. We plan to reduce underage drinking and marijuana use and prescription drug/opioid abuse among youth. Based on the initial 5 years, VFC anticipates serving 12,000 through education and events. The strategies and interventions include 1) providing information on coalition activities, dangers of underage marijuana use, alcohol use, and opioid use, 2) teaching relevant skills, 3) providing support to others with similar goals, 4) environment, consequences, policies, and procedures to better protect youth. Goal 1: increase community collaboration and networking to prevent youth substance abuse. Goal 2: reduce youth substance abuse by following the Strategic Prevention Framework.
