Rural Communities Rising Above the Influence in Linn (RC RAIL) service area includes; Mount Vernon, Lisbon, and Central City. The two focuses of the coalition are alcohol and tobacco use among youth. To address these focuses the following activities have been proposed for FY09 which include; alcohol/tobacco compliance checks, updating school policies regarding tobacco and alcohol, working with local businesses regarding their tobacco policies, distribution of tobacco quit kits, community education forums regarding ATOD and local social host ordinances in Lisbon and Mount Vernon, and developing a media campaign around social host ordinance.
