Tarrant County MHAT (Mental Health Awareness Training) Initiative - The Tarrant County MHAT Initiative will implement a 3-year Mental Health Awareness Training project across Tarrant County, Texas, to strengthen community capacity to recognize mental health concerns, respond appropriately to behavioral health crises, and connect individuals to care. The project will train educators, school personnel, youth-serving professionals, healthcare providers, first responders, veterans and military families, faith leaders, parents, caregivers, and other community members using Adult, Youth, and Teen Mental Health First Aid, suicide awareness and prevention training, and trauma-informed approaches. The initiative will train 2,000 individuals in Year 1, 2,250 in Year 2, and 2,500 in Year 3, for 6,750 participants over 3 years. Resource information will be provided to 100% of trainees, and referrals and linkages to care will be tracked through SPARS reporting. The project will also establish or maintain at least 10 active partnerships and conduct at least 12 outreach activities annually to strengthen countywide collaboration, mental health literacy, crisis response, and early intervention.
